Hob Dilemma

I want to use a gas hob in my new home but unfortunately builder put a beam where the wall units should be and I may have to get an electric hob. Two questions please:

What is the minimum distance allowed between a hood and a hob?

Can I combine an induction and ceramic/halogen plates in one hob as I don't want to throw away my precious glass pots?

You could mix and match domino hobs like these from Ikea...

Minimum height generally seems to be around 650mm but I would check the instructions before you buy.
