How do I choose a dehumidifier?

Hi, I have a rented flat which is part of an old house. We have an issue with damp every winter (LL does not want to do anything to help as says it is part of living in an old house )

I have a little dehumidifier from Aldi, but I think I need to get something a bit more heavy duty. I've been looking at different models - has anyone got any experience with this:

I read a review of it on ideal home.co.uk but I don't know if that is a reliable website.

I have a meaco, but a slightly smaller one.

It's brilliant. Needs emptying every day because it sucks out so much water.

I've have an ebac one in a two bed house and it's great. We have it on from now till about April time.

It has a laundry mode which really helps when I have to dry clothes on the airer in the house. The rest of the time it's on an auto setting so just goes on and off throughout the day when needed.

Cuts down on condensation and mildew in the colder corners of the house.

I really hate the damp!

I got a meaco too as it was a Which best buy, 20l I think which said it would do a 4 bed house and ours is only 2 so it keeps right on top of things and also dries the washing out.

Sounds good - I am so fed up with damp!
