What cleaning products do I need?

Hi,

The cupboard under my sink is full of different cleaning products, most of which never get used.

What is the minimum I need to:

  1. clean kitchen with a ceramic sink
  2. Wood floor
  3. bathroom
  4. windows
  5. carpet
  6. leather furniture

Also, how can I limit which clothes washing products I use?

Thx

Personally, I use liquid soda crystals for EVERYTHING. Even stains on washing. You can use it neat, no bleech in it and it doesn't have an overpowering after smell. Tis the best thing I've ever found. Comes in a spray bottle most places, but I get mine from Wilkos. 99p.

ecloths and water - just about covers everything.

Washing up liquid
Distilled white vinegar/essential oil
Hot water
Bicarb of soda
Bleach

) clean kitchen with a ceramic sink

:washing up liquid/hot water
bleach on occasion for sink (goes against my eco principals but on;y thing IMO that works)

  1. Wood floor

: I use 50/50 white distilled vinegar/water mix.. add essential oil if you like, but use very sparingly..damp mop then dry cloth

  1. bathroom
    bleach for loo
    soapy water for cleaning
    vinegar 50/50 for limescale

  2. windows
50/50 vinegar mix or ecloth's (they are v good)

  3. carpet
vacumn/bicarb soda to freshen/soapy water for spills

  4. leather furniture
    very weak soapy water/buff dry

what are eclothes?

And what kind of vinegar do you all use because I can't stand the smell when i;m cleaning with it.

yaddayah · 15/06/2007 19:18

eclothes .. like microfibre clothes (lakeland sell them) they have loads of little follicle things that attract the dirt and you don't need products , just water

I use sarsons distilled (its clear) .. yes it does hum, but if you add essential oil (i like peppermint or tangerine) about 10 drops it smells lovely

notsofarnow · 15/06/2007 19:23

ok another thick question. Where do you buy essential oil from?

yaddayah · 15/06/2007 19:40

boots ? I use the botanics stuff

Most chemists do them
