How to clean mould from grout?

OldSpeclkledHen · 16/10/2018 14:09

I did read somewhere, many moons ago, that baking powder and vinegar worked well?

Any advice please! It's started as a small spot ... and of course it's now spreading 🙄

No window to open unfortunately, as obviously fresh air is best for keeping it at bay.

Oh there's an amazing spray from Amazon that someone recommended on here - it's like a miracle! I'll try to find it for you.

Get it nice and dry and spray with this stuff

Leave it as long as you can to dry (preferably overnight). I did mine every day for about 3 days and the mould disappeared completely, even from the rubbery sealant round the bottom of the shower tray.

Here it is

Hg mould spray is cheaper in Robert Dyas than the link above. It's amazing though

Racontuer · 16/10/2018 14:16

Dettol mould and mildew remover works really well.

catlover1987 · 16/10/2018 14:18

Any mould remover spray and a toothbrush should do the trick.

donajimena · 16/10/2018 14:19

The sprays recommended but also once rinsed give a good scrub with an old toothbrush

Meandyouandyouandme · 16/10/2018 14:21

The HG spray is amazing, no scrubbing, it just disappears!

I tried everything. Then I read on here, soak some kitchen roll on bleach, put it on mould area overnight, gone by morning. It's the only thing I use bleach for as unfortunately the only thing that works (for me).

I have used pretty much every cleaning product known to man and the one you need for this job is Astonish mould and mildew, under £1 in Home Bargains.
It's like a miracle in a bottle :)

WheelyCote · 16/10/2018 19:54

Home bargains do a mould and mildew spray. It's excellent!!! Sorry do t know the name but it's in a black bottle

applesandpears33 · 17/10/2018 11:25

I'll second the home bargains one in the black bottle. It is much better than others I have tried.
