Limescale in the loo

Hi all,
I've just moved in and the loo is covered in timescale under the waterline.

I have shoved all manner of chemical connuctions down there and it's just not shifting. Bleach, toilet cleaner with limescale remover, a different toilet cleaner from Homebase promising timescale action. Viakal and scrubbing with marigolds on today and this duck toilet with limescale remover has been sat in it the past hour but I'm not holding much hope.

Would anyone be able to recommend a limescale cleaner that works below the water line, or how to drain a toilet so I can apply one that doesn't ( and which will actually work)

Or failing this, how much a plumber and a new toilet should cost. Grin

Thanks all!

Hi all. Just an update.
Spirits of salt has worked some kinda miracle. Most of it has gone and only left it for 1/2 hour. I'm going in for a second dose.

It's made a terrible stink. Think that's the limescale dying!

It was a little like letting a bomb off lol. Pour it in and then it starts steaming... shut the lid down and ran!

It's practically gleaming. Tbf the bottle did say it would remove cement so...

Do you leave the water in the pan with spirits of salt, or bail it first?

Yes, left the water in. It's like a mini science experiment.

Put the lid down quick. Do not breath the fumes. Leave the room.

Hold your nose when you return. Do not wonder what the brown sludge is before you flush it away.

Viakal worked a treat on ours, we emptied the water, poured it in and left for about a hr....came up perfect.
The bottles are on offer in wilkos for £1.20 at the moment too!
