keeping floor tile grout clean

Our bathroom floor is tiny mosaic tiles, with white-ish grout. It is totally impractical, because of the impossibility of cleaning a million grout lines. Is there a way of cleaning that I've missed, or should I just get the floor re-tiled with big tiles (= less grout).

I remember being advised never to go for white grout on a floor as it gets so dirty. Could you re-grout with a darker colour? Cheaper and easier than re-tiling! Failing that, a stiff brush is the best way I've found to clean between tiles on the floor. Although I don't own a steam cleaner and would be interested to hear from people who do as that might be a solution...
