Stinky silicone microwave steamer!

I bought a steamer for the microwave - it's basically a plastic bowl with a lid like a seive.

I washed it in the dishwasher but the kid stinks of soap.

It now makes the food taste soapy, so I have soaked it, scrubbed it, left it in bicarb of soda but it still smells like air freshener.

Is there anything else I can try? Other lids just make it boil over for some reason.

Leave it outside in the sunshine.

Wash in weak solution of sugar soap.

Give it a soak in Milton.

All individual suggestions, not saying you have to do all three.

If all else fails, maybe buy a new one and just clean it using plain hot water.
