Bed bugs, help!!

Just discovered my Ds (2) has bed bugs in his room, he had a couple of bites s few days ago but we has been out in the garden so I assumed something had bitten him there.

Then this morning a big cluster on his arm and some on his neck. Googled what they look like and I'm sure it's bed bugs.

What do I do? Anyone have experience of getting rid of them successfully? I've started to wash absolutely everything in his room, hoovered everywhere and hoovered his mattress.

Everywhere online recommends professional help which we really can't afford right now. Can I get rid of them by myself with just washing and cleaning everywhere, and a spray from the chemist?

Also we rent our house, do you think there is any chance the landlord might help?

it is worth an ask but if you've been there a while, the odds are that you brought the bedbugs in and so it is your problem.

it really does need professional help to steam the place, very few other remedies have even the slightest chance of working. until you can afford it, do not go and stay with anyone else unless you turn up with just what you stand up in and immediately have that all boil washed.

sorry.

Thank you for your response, I have left a message fort landlord, hopefully he will be willing to help us. We have been here just over a year so quite possible we have brought them in somehow from somewhere? But I've read that they can lay dormant for years also so could have been an existing problem.

I don't know what to do with my son tonight, should I still put him to sleep in his room like normal? God, back at work, 8 months old baby that won't sleep at night, last thing I need this 😩😩😩
