How long does bread keep in a bread bin?

How long would a loaf of normal, sliced bread keep in a bread bin? I always keep mine in the freezer but am desperately trying to justify spending £50 on Nigella Lawson's gorgeous blue bread bins It has an airtight lid, but I still can't imagine it keeping for more than a few days...?

I'm sure that unless it's full of preservatives, which most bread isn't, it would still go off after the use by date.
I put mine in a bread bin and you can bet it's started to go mouldy within a day of the use by date.

Nigella's airtight one might be a bit longer though.

If you need a bread bin anyway - why not buy a pretty one instead 'cause they're all rather boring! Have I convinced you?!!!

I don't need one at all, I just love the look of this one - so it's both impractical and unnecessary
