I’m thinking of trialling one. There are two adults in a two bed flat. Can anyone tell me how they get on with theirs? Has it been financially viable?

Four adult household here and I am sure we'd be better off without one. When we had seven of us living here, I was forever nagging about use of water. It was here when we moved in.

However, when my mother, in her two adult household, had a meter installed, her bills went down dramatically.

Family of 4. Water meter saved us a fortune!

Have you put your usage into the online calculator for an estimate? It worked out significantly cheaper for bus without one so we didn't bother. But our set rate is only £22p/m

adventure thank you

dani my water rates are quite expensive so I think it would definitely make a difference

You need to use the calculator. We were compulsorily metered and our bills doubled (family of 4, small house). Consoling myself that we had it cheap for 20 years begore that.

We had one fitted a year ago, but won't be charged on it for another year. Two adults two kids, 3 bed house.

The new bill came through yesterday and in the meter if it would £390 instead of £307.

I can't remember the numbers off the top of my head but we were somewhere between average and efficient.

Family of four, our metered bills are a lot less than we would be paying based on rateable value.
