Can you help me find a new kettle?

Kettle died today, I was going to splash out on a Dualit one thinking that it would be worth it long term, but curse of the amazon review and I’m wavering as it seems that they don’t always last. Almost convinced I need a hob one as at least it couldn’t break but then not sure I could wait for it to boil. Any thoughts?

I'm a big believer in buying quality when it comes to white goods because they're used a lot in my house. Kettles, no. I have a Dualit toaster but a £5 Tesco kettle. Have had it years.

I have just donated a lovely Le Creuset kettle which I loved, but everyone else hated. They all wanted electric.

We have a bean to cup coffee maker that's use all morning. The kettle is used a couple of times a day to make tea and heat water for cooking. It doesn't need to be super fast or fancy.

We've been very happy with our AEG. I really wanted a Dualit but Dh came home with this and said next time it'd be my choice. It hasn't disappointed me yet.
We got ours in John Lewis but seems they don't stock any longer.

We splashed out on a lovely red Delonghi toaster and kettle to go with our new kitchen. Not cheap but very pretty.

In the first year the Delonghi kettle was returned 3 times until it was out of stock, we got a refund and we bought a tesco plastic cheap kettle to replace it temporarily until we found a new red one. 6 years on we still have the cheap kettle.

The toaster is still ok.

I wouldn't recommend Delonghi kettles, but tesco cheap plastic although not athestically pleasing do last.

I don't understand why they don't put time to boil a litre of water on spec
I'm not fussy - steel or black or whatever- but I'd like to know which ones fastest

God, I’m another lover of a cheap Tesco kettle.
When we last moved I booked a Tesco order for the day we moved 8n with a £5 white plastic kettle on the delivery.
They didn’t have one so ‘upgraded’ me to a stainless steel Tesco one.
Three years down the line it’s still fab.
Dead easy to clean and boils quickly. I’ve even had compliments on it.
It gets used, on average eight times a day.
I love it. Never buying an expensive kettle again.
I’m a great believer in buy cheap, buy twice, but when it’s something that simply boils water it seems that buying cheap is the way to go!

We have this Bosch one- the most expensive kettle I’ve ever bought but I love it. Quick, relatively quiet, range of temperatures (I like this for making coffee and hot water bottles!) and best of all IMO the keep warm function. Have only had it 6 months though so can’t vouch for it’s durability

I pay out a bit more that the verycheapest for a faster boil, but I’m happy with my Morphy Richards £17 ish job. I’ve had it for 6 years so far I think.

We have this hideously expensive one in red. (DP bought it)

I’ve got a Kitchenaid kettle
I bought the red one as I wanted colours in the kitchen
You can set it to different temperatures if you don’t want boiling hot water
It’s the best I’ve ever had

I bought the small dualit as I rarely boil a full kettle.

I love it (well of course it is only a kettle but it must be in its third year).

I've got a £12 kettle from Asda. It rarely needs descaling and we've had it two years now. I believe in spending money on washing machines etc but I think kettles do the job expensive or not.

Another vote for a cheap kettle.

I paid £80 for a Brabantia and it is falling apart after a year.

I agree. I bought a bells and whistle one and it was rubbish. My Tesco stainless steel one is ace and I have had it for 6 years now.

I have a dualit one it’s rubbish, the lid keeps popping open it’s a pain to clean constantly needs de scaling & is the noisiest thing on the planet.

We've had so many posh looking expensive kettles over the last few years , it seems that those with 'windows' in invariably start leaking after a few months especially if you have to descale them like we do in a hard water area.

We now have a cheap steel Russell Hobbs kettle ( no window) .Its great..

Have a dualit one that is about 11 years old. Still works well but v noisy! Don’t know what the new ones are like or their price but the old one has lasted well :)

I have a black kitchen aid one. It's only small, so I have a grey enamel garden trading hob top one too.

I like the look of that Russell hobs one. I’ve just dithered and not bought anything and as I am cooking on a camping stove ( kitchen arrives in a month) I’ve been using a camping kettle that takes 15mins if full and howls to the moon when it’s ready. I think any kettle after this will be marvellous.
