I have an 18 month toddler and am.34 weeks pregnant with terrible pelvic girdle pain. DH works long hours but helps out as much as he can. I am struggling to stay on top pf house at the moment. Just gone on maternity leave. Where do I start? House is tidy for two mins then messy again. I can't bare it.

I’m not sure that it is comforting to hear but I think it is normal to live in a tip when you have an 18 month old. Mine pulled apart anything I tried to tidy quicker than I could tidy it. I know it is stressful living with ness but there is a lot on your plate and it may just be the thing that has to slide? For a bit anyway. Does it help that I think that very few people manage that stage without mess?

I temember tthose days and feeling so inadequate that other people always seemed to manage better than me. I just used to focus on clean rather than necessarily tidy, i.e kitchen/bathroom. Be kind to yourself, your health and time with your little one is more important.

My youngest is 16m. My advice is stay out of the house! It is exhausting otherwise! 😃Invite yourselves round to other people homes, go to the park, toddler groups.... anywhere! I only clear up when she’s asleep but in your case I’d have a rest!
Give yourself a break. You’ll get back on track at some stage.

Sit down and have a cup of tea, don't push yourself. The house won't be perfect when the kids are small but other things are more important for now.

Thank you so much everyone 😊 makes me feel a lot better. It is stressing me out so we do spend most of our day out but just feel like I should be on top of it. My mum was telling me the same as you lovely people and to stop stressing. X
