What is the best product or technique for cleaning off that sticky tough yuck? Does anything lift off that sticky yellowish stuff from cooker splash back and nearby cupboard fronts? I've been try big with a flash spray and non-scratch sponge scouters but just ending up in a sticky frustrating mess. Help!

Soda crystals do the best job. Strong solution in hot water.

Make a paste of soda crystals, salt and washing up liquid. Spread on the surface. Leave for at least half an hour. Wash off with very hot water. Works a treat.

Soda crystals in hot water worked wonders on the sticky grot on the top of my kitchen cabinets.

Sugar soap wipes from wilko £2 for 50 wipes I’ve just done my cooker hood and tiles they were really good.

Good to know, however wipes are not very eco friendly though as they contain plastic and take donkeys years to break down. You could probably spray sugar soap onto a cloth and get the same result.

Another recommendation for washing up liquid and very hot water to rinse off. Won't take the finish off the cupboard doors either.
