I'm so incredibly ruthless about decluttering but i find throwing the kids toys out so difficult.

Any tips? I'm over run with millions and millions of toys. I have 3 children very close in age so i do have to keep some. The thought of throwing any out makes me feel guilty and tearful. Please help!

Give them to a children charity?

bluetrampolines · 21/09/2018 12:51

Yeah I do do that. But which ones do I choose?

I have 3 kids too. What I do is I put away the things they haven't played with in a long time (6 months / 1 year). I hide them in the garage or my wardrobe for a month or two. If they don't miss them, then they go to a charity shop.

That I can’t help with. I only have one child and I am putting most stuff in the lift in hope of a second but I have got rid of the stuff I don’t like.

I am the same! DS is only 16 months too so he hasnt even got that much stuff yet really but I know he doesnt even play with 90% of what he has!

The stuff he has out grown I keep thinking "but what if we do have another one" and then other things are either sentimental to me (like wtf how can my childs toy have sentimental value to me!?!) or I wonder if he will like it in a few weeks/months!

But with Xmas on the horizon surely we should start thinking about decluttering?

Last Christmas I asked family (GPS) to limit how many toys they bought and this made a huge difference.
