Freezer in garage

We're considering a garage freezer to encourage more batch cooking. Has anyone gotten one and actually stuck to the extra cooking / reduced shopping? By tips for not ending up with an empty freezer or worse - a freezer full of spag bol and chilli that never gets eaten (We're awful for forgetting to take stuff out of the freezer and that's in the kitchen!!)

Don't labels fall off. What type do you use?

Catering freezer will withstand lower temperatures. We lost ours at -25C and haven't renewed it but think I will this year. Lots won't withstand -15C now and are not insured. We couldn't claim on ours. They didn't believe it had been that cold at first.
We don't need it so much now the kids have left home but I am getting a new cooker and planning to batch bake more.

I started having labels fall off and I worked out that I'd had them for over six years. I replaced them and have had no trouble since. I label the boxes and then shell them into plastic bags once frozen. There are either one or two of us eating so I freeze everything in individual portions and then put all of them in one zip lock bag. I can easily pull out two if I need to without having to hunt through the freezer for the second portion that I know is in there.
