I have a Whirlpool WWDC 8420/2 washing machine. It's 4 years old. I've never been able to run a 95 degree cleaning cycle because the hottest cycle option (Cotton) is 60 degrees. Having consulted the instruction manual, today I got round to calling the "customer service" line to ask why my machine won't do a 95 degree cycle.
After the usual 20 minutes on hold, the customer service person couldn't answer the question so put me through to someone "who will be able to answer technical questions". The person I then spoke to informed me, as if I were an idiot, that she couldn't answer any technical questions and I would have to ask the customer service team. I then spoke to another one, who told me to "look online".
How am I supposed to work out how to run a 95 degree cycle? The setting on my machine which corresponds to the one the manual says should be a 95 degree cycle, is a 60 degree cycle. Pressing the "Temp" button will only bring the temp down, not up. No other pre-set cycle has any temp above 60 degrees.
