Help! New washing machine shrinking my clothes, engineer states nothing is wrong!

Hi all, just don't know where to go from here.
Bought new bosch washing machine from boots appliances less than 2 months ago. It's been shrinking clothes - on a 40 degree wash! Boots just told me to deal with bosch directly, they came yesterday and I was told that the temperature test was accurate on a 30 degree cycle, and that there's nothing wrong.
And to make me feel better apparently out of goodwill I wouldn't be charged for the visit (no fault =charge)
Given advice to try a longer cycle and smaller load - I was using a quick wash setting and heavier than the actual allowance apparently, how on earth that shrinks clothing I don't know

Too scared to put my kids new uniform in to wash this weekend. My favourite work trousers are 2 inches shorter and this is costing me a fortune!
Feel awful about the damaged clothing and the "there's no fault" response
Where do I go from here?
Thanks for any help

Why did they test the 30 degree programme if it's the 40 degree that's shrinking stuff?

Good point..

Does it have a dial you turn to select the programme? Because I've just had to have mine mended as the dial wasn't corresponding to the correct setting, IYKWIM.

No dial... Just a digital touch screen display :(

Is it just cold fill or both hot and cold fill? I had this problem once and a tradesman had mixed up the hot and cold when reconnecting.

I would put in some towels (anything that would be OK at 60 or 90) at 40 and feel the front door several times in the cycle. When mine washes at 60 it feels warm/hot to the touch whereas at 40 it doesn't

Thanks JoyceTempleSavage that's a good tip, I'll try it tomorrow...
Really scared to wash other stuff...

Are you using cottons cycles? It could be that the wash action is too rough for the clothes that are going on. You could try the easy care cycle, it’s a bit more gentle

Thanks Eco I've just done a wash on 30 easy care... I've measured the clothes before, so will definitely know... I touched the door to the drum, didn't feel "hot"

It's ridiculous. It's a brand new machine!

I think they are all cold fill nowadays.
