Help me sort my cleaning game/ life out

I had a thread recently about laundry and the best products to use/ which machine settings to pick etc and it's changed my life.

Next step: get my general cleaning capabilities to the same level. Calling for any help I can get to make me a Proper Adult.

I'm talking key products but also what to use and when (and in which order).

Main areas I need to brush up on are:

  • Kitchen sink and worktops
  • Bath, shower, sinks
  • Toilets
  • General areas for dusting
  • Windows/ shower doors
  • Floors

So basically, everywhere. I'm not a scruffbag (promise) and DO obviously regularly clean but I want that extra squeaky clean feel. Currently I use a general kitchen spray (method or something that smells good) for the kitchen with a regular cloth. Bathrooms and a standard bathroom spray and wipe down. Toilets are the same plus bleach. Windows are glass cleaner then buffed. Carpets are hoovered and wooden floor is hoovered then steam mopped.

I'm an amateur. If anyone has any tips I need them! Fully in favour of however much detail you can be bothered to go to, including types of cloth/scourer etc and order of products to be used and how often. Please help!

I had a couple of months without a cleaner last year and realised I had no idea how to clean things properly. Something that helped was watching videos on YouTube (even though I felt REALLY silly doing it!)

There are lots of home & lifestyle bloggers that do "clean with me" videos, but I'd recommend Melissa Maker of Clean My Space as she does non-judgmental how to guides for complete cleaning novices.

The Organised Mum also has a whole system you can follow if you need help with what order to do things in.
