My curtain is wider than the bump interlining fabric...

Hi!

I would really appreciate any advice.

I bought some second hand curtains from ebay, and I would like to line them with bump interlining.

The curtains are wider than the standard widths that are available - my curtains are about 66 inches wide, and the lining fabrics that are available are a standard 54 inches.

(www.merrick-day.com/acatalog/Bump-interlining--410g-m2-137cm--54in--wide-Natural-BUMP410.html#SID=145 this is the type im interested in, as recommended here, 410g)

This means I will have to order multiple lengths to make the lining for the curtain.

However, I am unsure of how to deal with the seam! will it not be bulky if I sew it together where the sides meet? or messy if I just overlap and lightly stitch?

I am also worried it its going to end up a bit pricey as my curtains are full length!

Any advice would be much appreciated! (or any recommendations for shops which sell this heavier bump lining with wider widths)

Thank you!

There’s a post here that says the best way to join the interlining is with a herringbone stitch, by hand.
