Please can you give me your grout tips. Our new floors look rubbish due to traffic incl rugby kits, muddy digs, daughters' paints etc.

Dig it out and replace it with a darker colour. Messy and will take a couple of days or so but less hassle in the longer term.

Mix bicarbonate of soda with a little bit of water to make a paste, apply and rub gently with a cloth. the dirt and staining comes off straight away. For very stubborn stains leave the paste on for a time. Failing which darker grout as suggested will mean less maintenance!

Thanks, will give that a try first.

You can also buy a sealer. Get it clean first then use a fine paint brush ( a child's paint brush ) to paint the sealer on. And yes it is laborious !

We did use the sealer. Several times! I'm wondering if sorry grout is the same colour the darker grout would be!

Bicarb mixed with a little water to a paste, spread on grout. Spray with vinegar (it fizzes), scrub off with a toothbrush.

Attached should be a picture when I was halfway through doing mine, you can tell which bit has been done!

Wow, maybe I should try the bicarb after all. Thanks.
