EXCITING floor cleaning thread

Have just renovated whole house and need mop/cleaning tools for a few types of floor:

  1. engineered wood floorboards
  2. ceramic tiles
  3. painted original boards

What type of floor mop/s do I need? One of those big microfiber things? Presume proper wet mop for tiles? SO confused. Too many options these days, I just don't want to ruin my lovely new floors!

Help please MN!

I have a flash one which I love but I don't think the cleaning liquid can be used on painted or wood floors?

I've tried every mop going (working farm, lots of dirty stone/tiled floors)

The consistently best way I've found of cleaning floors is a generous squirt of some kind of floor cleaner/ detergent (I actually use ecover toilet cleaner Blush) and a few mugs of hot/boiling water and then use a couple of old towels and your bare feet to scrub/mop.

Picks up all the dust rather than pushing it around, you can spot clean better and no mouldering mops/mop buckets as you just bung the towels straight in the washing machine.

I don't know about the products but there is a method nice smelling one that you can use for wood!!

Have a look at the Karcher FC5 I believe it can do all three types of floor. I have one as we have a large tiled area downstairs and find it great and gets the floor squeaky clean.

Okeydokeys · 09/09/2018 17:47

The Karcher only gets 4* on Amazon.

Scrowy your floor most sounds like ours. Not a working farm but may as well be given the mud the dogs track in!

How do you mean you scrub with your feet? Do you get down and use a brush for grout etc?

Dairy the Method one smells of marzipan but it only lasts a few
mins in my experience.

Okay what's a longer lasting smelly floor cleaner? I've been putting zoflora in with flash and water into the spray mop just realised you're not meant to for wood so thought I'd get method

Enjo floor fibre system with specific fibres for each of the floor types you have mentioned. Love mine. I have slate, solid wood, karndean and it works great
