Life hacks

I’ve just watched a video on Facebook with supposed life hacks. The odd one seemed ok, but some just seemed like I’d never use them, and many seemed to take longer than the obvious way of doing something!

So, do you have a life hack that you use a lot, works well, and saves time (and possibly money)?

You can clean all sorts of things in the dishwasher. I regularly put my scrubbing brush, draining board, chopping boards, soap dishes, cleaning sponges, etc in there.
I've also put in plastic toys that need a good clean, toothbrushes and hard bristled hair brushes, plastic fridge shelves etc etc.

When there is a sick bug in the house; cut open bin liners to lay next to beds, pop a peddle bin liner into your sick bucket, that way you can just knot the bag and chuck it. (Took me years that one.)

If the state of your house is getting you down, rather than spend 5 hours giving it a thorough clean, simply down a bottle of gin and for the next 24 hours, you won't be able to see how grim it all looks.

Harsh bathroom lighting can cause problems with mirrors - just smear a few tubs of vaseline over it and voila! your mirror no longer reflects all those troublesome lines and jowls.

Is there a bad smell coming from your hoover? Chuck it in the bin and get a greedy dog to clear up the crumbs.

Is there a bad smell coming from your dog? All you have to do is take up synchronised swimming and use your decorative nose clips to solve the problem.
