cobwebs...You're best tips please

We live in a beautiful country house but I am always chasing cobwebs Is it better to hover or wipe them down?

Wipe definitely, they just stick up the hoover - I have the same problem but this time of year I let the flourish - keeps the fly population to a minimum

Wet or dry wipe?

Having asked, I like your thinking...I now have the excuse I was looking for to let them flourish!

I use what is called a 'top duster' get them from hardware shops etc., Basically a hard roundish large brush on top of a stick (like a broom handle). The cobwebs get stuck on the brush if any do come down you can just dust or hoover them up, if you do it regularly you will just need a quick whizz round the ceilings with the top brush and the cobwebbs will all be stuck on the brush.
