last Wednesday I discovered carpet beetles on our 3rd floor ( used to be a loft). Found a couple of larve in on the landing outside the room on the wool carpet. Also found a couple of holes in my top. Since it’s been a total nightmare as I havnt stopped. I’ve done as follows:-
Sorted, washed and emptied every item of clothing in the house ( 4 bedroom and 4 of us living here)...
Thrown out Any item with holes in ( but only found things they had eaten up in the loft room but for precaution did all clothing) managed a whole large skips worth of stuff I thought had been potentially
contaminated
Cleaned and washed all fabric in the house ( throws, duvets, blinds etc )
Cut up the carpet and underlay in the room where I found them
Sprayed carpet beetl spray in the room
Bleached and cleaned every surface in the house
We also have the fumigators coming tomorrow and the stea cleaners coming next week.
Is this enough to get rid of them? Has anyone had an experience? I’m so excited
Exhausted and so terrified they will sneak back into all the washed/dry cleaned clothes or back on the carpet etc.
Help!!!
