Can I use Zoflora to clean tea stains from the inside of mugs and cups?

Would you not be better with bleach? Zoflora is a disinfectant

YeTalkShiteHen · 24/08/2018 14:25

It’s not a cleaner, it’s a disinfectant. Also, it’s so scented it’ll taint your cups.

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 24/08/2018 14:25

Well it won't remove the stain but it will make them smell nice! Zoflora is a disinfectant not a bleach or stain remover. Try a weak bleach solution, or a dishwasher tablet.

Or Steradent (or equivalent) tablets.

The best thing to use to get rid of tea stains is bircarbonate of soda. Dip a damp piece of kitchen roll into the bicarb and wipe around the cup. The stain comes off really easily with no scrubbing required.

@hotchocdrinker Thank you! Will try that now!

Use sterilising fluid. You can get a big bottle in Poundland (near the baby section), fill your mugs up with cold water, squirt some sterilising fluid into it then leave overnight! The stains will disappear by the next day. I always do this to destain my cutlery as well (especially teaspoons!)

I use spray bleach and one or two sprays does the trick. Then scale with boiling water.

Magic sponge will remove the stains 👍
