My mum has an eco egg. I'm intrigued as she says it works.

So I look on amazon. You can get balls for all sorts of things. Softening, de-scaling, washing and scenting. Do these work???

The main thing I'm worried about is softening as I live in London and the water is v hard.

Tell me about your balls please.

Which did a test on eco balls and found them as effective as using no detergent at all. Which was not ineffective! So you may find you can get just as good results as your mother does for even less money...

Dryer balls actually make a difference, the rest is all snake oil.

Basically just rinsing with water, then?

Just dryer balls then....
