Cooker extractors - vented or filter??

I hope this is the right part of the forum!
I am choosing an extractor to go over the hob in my new kitchen. (yay!)
The kitchen company have suggested a filter type but I would have thought one that vented outside would have been better.
Does anyone have any advice?

Vented to the outside is the proper job.

The filter/recirculating ones are simply not effective.

Vented outside is much better
