Are Method products worth it? Are they environmentally sound?

So far I've been disappointed. They smell nice at first sniff but don't seem to have a nice enough smell to make the house smell nicer (have dogs - we can't smell them but I'm sure others do).

Astonish is much better and cheaper! They're vegan too 😊

0hitisyou · 10/08/2018 21:54

Mrs thanks - where do you buy them?

Method used to be good but now owned by Johnson and Johnson so no longer ethical.

CurbsideProphet · 10/08/2018 22:07

I didn't realise Johnson and Johnson had bought Method. That's a shame. Are there any environmentally friendly cleaning brands left?

schooltripwoes · 10/08/2018 22:09

Method (and Ecover) are now owned by big multinational companies. The quality of both have gone downhill a lot recently and they are no more ethical than the big brands really. Such a shame. I've used both for 10+ years but am disappointed with the new formulations and won't be buying again.

0hitisyou · 10/08/2018 22:21

That's a shame - though thanks for as saving me a lot on the Tesco 3 for £6 deal

Bio D is meant to be good

Fishface77 · 10/08/2018 22:24

Cleanology supposed to be good.

Everstrong · 11/08/2018 00:55

I use Bio-D washing up liquid and surface cleaner and really like both. Ethical superstore stock them and I imagine you can get them elsewhere too. They rate towards the top in terms of ethics.

howtomoveforwardnow · 11/08/2018 22:32

I buy my Bio-d stuff in bulk from Suma wholesale.

mrscloppity · 12/08/2018 10:12

@0hitisyou B+M or Home Bargains. Quite a few supermarkets are starting to sell them too. I use them for everything - their oven cleaner paste is amazing 😊

not sure why I was deleted - I was just recommending eco product Splosh as an alternative, low packaging alternative to Method - which is kind of the whole point of this thread.

LittleWingSoul · 04/09/2018 17:40

@TheClitterati I have seen that splosh stuff in tescos too

EcoCleaner · 04/09/2018 17:52

Ecover & Method got bought out by SC Johnson, which have the worst animal testing policies of all the major corporate giants (Unilever, P&G etc)

Bio-D is better and UK made. I got their 5ltr bottle of antibac spray and just refil it in a spray bottle. It’s lasted for months.

TheClitterati · 05/09/2018 11:13

ooh have you LittleWing? I will keep an eye out for it there. I really love the minimal packaging aspect - the kitchen and bathroom sprays were both great. I wasn't such a fan of their dishwash.
