Washing an adults uniform.

Hiya.
My DP has recently changed jobs and therefore changed uniform. He still has to wear a polo shirt and I haven’t changed my washing machine/ powder / temperature wash at 40. But the shirt has bobbled up, and for some reason it smells like BO when he puts it on First thing. He is not a smelly person at all, but i think the material is causing more sweating. Any advice? I’m scared I will shrink the top If it goes on a hotter wash. We have to wash Lacoste polo’s on a 30 because they shrink so I’m always wary now.

White vinegar/Zoflora/Dettol antibacterial washing stuff will sort BO smells. I prefer white vinegar but the recent AMA thread about detergents suggested that vinegar in the machine will deteriorate the seals or something sonive switched to the Dettol stuff. Or maybe soak in white vinegar and rinse before washing.

Dh used to have smelly work polo shirts i did a pre wash got rid of the B O smell I think it is the material is it waffley?

I use Dettol antibacterial laundry stuff to get rid of whiffs. You need a biological powder as well if it's that type of material and wash inside out.

Ooh I never though about washing inside out actually. It’s not really wafflely at all it’s quite a close cottony stich 65% polyester 35% cotton. Clearly inferior to royal mail’s uniform. I will try Dettol too then.
Stick to 40 do you think?
