What would a dead mouse smell like?

There's a horrific smell behind the washing machine. Smells like poo, but I don't know how poo could have got there. Cats are bringing in mice at the moment. If one escaped their clutches and died behind the washing machine, what would it smell like as it decomposed?

Dead mice tend to smell like rotting meat. If you have a faecal type smell it might be a leaking drain under the washing machine, or the cats may have had a sneaky crap behind it!

I don’t know about a smell but when we had a dead mouse it was the never ending supply of blue bottles that was the giveaway. Shuddering remembering it

We'll find out tomorrow - smell too horrific to ignore and hope will go away so will pull out the wm in the morning.

A dead mouse will smell like death. If you know what that smells like.

Oh lord. You will know when you smell it. Worse than a poo. It clings to your nose for days after you have got rid of it.

back to update after being on hols - it was a sneaky cat poo in the corner space where there isn't a unit, next to the washing machine. Of course, out of me and DH, only I could fit down there to clear it up.

I know which one it was, but can't prove it. Little fecker.
