Mould spots on fabric

Hi All, I'm hoping you may be able to offer me some advice!

I'm currently expecting my first child. I have found my old baby blanket and would love my own child to use it. However, it seems to have dark mould spots on the fabric. I'm guessing as the mould is at least 30 years old then it's too dried on to be removed, am I right? If I am, then my second question is will it harm my baby if I use the blanket? Or would a good hot wash sort it all out?

The blanket is handmade in cotton so I wouldn't want to do anything too drastic to it. Hopefully someone has some idea? Thanks in advance!

Is it white cotton?
If it is I would try non-chlorine bleach.
A quick search said soak in one cup of vinegar in a bucket of water, then wash as normal.
I'd hand wash in lukewarm water and baby-friendly washing powder or soap.

Dry the blanket on the washing line ideally all of it facing the sun.

It's a patchwork so not white. I'm a bit worried even about vinegar but will do some experiments with scraps of cotton to see. Thank you.

Soak well in strong Milton sterilising solution overnight then dry on your outside line in the sunlight.
