Twig, never put you down for a BRAND queen!

But we do love Pom-Bear's in this house - thought I was a Bad Mum, but feel a little better now! (Please don't tell me they are JUST for you and dh)

quadrophenia · 31/05/2007 18:41

of course shes a brand queen she used to work in advertising, not much food there Twig

quadrophenia · 31/05/2007 18:41

or marketing, something like that

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 18:47

you can't call me a brand queen when its mainly supermarket own-brand stuff can you?

OP posts:
quadrophenia · 31/05/2007 18:48

you can if its brand waitrose Twig

MerryMarigold · 31/05/2007 18:53

yeah, all the veg and meat. not a lot of brands there. but rowse honey and kraft spread and kingsmill bread. surely the waitrose stuff is nicer.

(quad, i used to work in advertising - that's why i know brands aren't about having better quality but more money to spend on ads!)

MerryMarigold · 31/05/2007 18:54

though waitrose are spending quite a bit at the mo as well!

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 18:55

not much food no .. but the juice should last a while

OP posts:
Twiglett · 31/05/2007 18:56

philli was special offer
the kingsmill is the only wholegrain bread DH will eat
and the rowse honey comes in a squeezy bottle .. d'ya hear me a squeezy bottle .. in-geeeeen-ious

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 19:07

but they don't bring it into your kitchen on time (or 4 hours early in tonight's case) nor give you £10 off for shopping on a particular day

OP posts:
MerryMarigold · 31/05/2007 19:16

okay, you win. so how do you get this 10 pounds off thing? do you need to be a valuable and loyal customer? cos i love waitrose fruit, it is definitely much, much nicer.

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 19:17

you order, then you don't then they send you emails rather easy actually

I agree about the fruit .. and veg

No you don't drain them .. they're more like baked beans

I actually use them to make chilli con carne cos I've found they work really well .. brown mince, crush garlic clove, tin (or 2 cos DS's favourite is the beans) of chilli kidney beans, tin tomatoes, sprinkle chilli, 2 tbsp cumin .. simmer and serve
