Well, as close to £250 as can be. I am after a good, quiet, efficient machine, free standing and white if possible. Current one is an Indesit and I would rather not have another one. Thank you.

Ours is a Beko, 9kg drum, was £220 ish in Curry’s on some kind of offer. We’ve only had it 3 months but it’s great - not too noisy, spins really well, can’t fault it. I know Beko don’t have the best reputation at times but it was a panic buy when the old one died just before holiday and we love it.

I've had this zanussi for a couple of years. Very happy with it.

Beko again.

I replaced my shit Hotpoint with this model 2 years ago and have had no problems at all.

Had a Hotpoint for 5 Yrs and by the time I had, had enough the only thing that was original was the case. All the working bits had been replaced at least twice.

Beko here - we have an 8kg one that's now 5 years old. It's had some more motor brushes (easy to change and less than £10 to buy), and a door mechanism thing which I can't remember the name of, again less than £10 for replacement part and easy to do. It's had very, very heavy use (think around 4 or 5 loads every single day) and remains quiet and working. =)

Blomberg, it is the same company as Beko but slightly more robust, their washing machine and dishwasher are excellent but their larder fridge and freezer are rubbish. Would recommend the Blomberg for the "wet" side of labour saving devices, had their dishwasher for years (had to leave it when I moved) and used their washing machine for over a year, day in, day out, really good.

We actually went for this one in the end ao.com/product/hw100b14636-haier-hatrium-washing-machine-white-50638-1.aspx
So far so good. Clothes do seem to be cleaner, and actually conditioned. Not sure the drum is bigger than my previous one, but there is only 1kg between them so prob not that noticeable. One thing I don't like it you can't see into the drum due to the black glass window. This is quite important, esp as the last wash in the previous one somehow had a kitchen knife included Grin
