Good morning all

I only skimmed yesterdays thread so sorry if I have missed anything improtant.

Considering there were thirteen children under 8 in my house yesterday I think we got it back into a habitable state quite quickly!

Today I have only one extra child, hopefully staying overnight, and possible swimming on the menu for all the children.

I also need to

hoover
s&s kitchen
s&s bathroom
move dining table
1 load washing/drying
filing
stake tomato plants

Morning Jas

Morning All

Aufish Hope your b'day got better {{{HUGS}}} for you xx

Madwelshwoman ooooh hope you have a good day there too when you go. It is about the 10th time we have been. My printed AA route finder thing says it will take us about 1 hour 45 mins to get there. (I'm panicking slightly as DH isn't comming, and although I know the route like the back of my hand I hate driving long distances on my own. I have printed directions anyway....just incase...

Anyway...have a good day all. I have to get on...finish the picnic, pack spare clothes and coats, get DD2 dressed! Find raincover for the pushchair, pack car....and go

Jas · 31/05/2007 07:40

Have a lovely day out ludaloo

Good Morning

Jas well done on yesterday! Hope the sleep-over is fun tonight. My dd has started to ask about having a friend to stay over, what age did you start letting them have friends over/stay away?

Luda have a fun today. I'm sure the drive will be fine (although I hate journeys like that too so you have my sympathy)

We have some friends coming for lunch today who we don't see very often so are all looking forward to that
I need to have a quick tidy up before they come and put some washing in the machine but the house isn't too bad so we're just about ready. I just need to wake dd up and get everyone dressed and breakfasted.....friends are due at 10 so we need to start getting organised.

Jas · 31/05/2007 08:39

shouldbe" - we are cheating. It is my best friend and her ds staying

I let her invite 4 for her 7th birthday, but only two actually stayed all night. She hasn't been invited yet so I haven't had that problem come up

OP posts:
shouldbe · 31/05/2007 09:08

aha, that's OK then Jas...maybe I have a while before I need to offer it (phew!) I can imagine dd and one friend are going to be asking over the summer so I'll have to see what excuses I can find
Only an hour till friends arrive and I'm not dressed yet - haven't even been downstairs yet this morning but have got the bedrooms tidy and the kids dressed They're the kind of friends I feel reasonably relaxed about coming round so I'm not overly bothered as long as things aren't too awful! (which they rarely are these days thanks to this lovely thread and you lovely ladies )
Better go and get on...see you later in the day x

Madwelshwoman · 31/05/2007 09:25

Morning all

Aufish Hope you're birthday turned out well after all big hugs again!

Luda Enjoy Folly Farm hope the weather will be ok for the weekend it's not looking great in my neck of the woods today so hope it clears up for you.

Morning Jas brave you all those kids yesterday!

Was hoping to start work on my veggie plot today in the garden today with the kids but it's piddling it down and I have a cold coming on, plus my back is still giving a bit of jip.

Quiet day in today I think, might attempt the impossible and see if I can do all the laundry that needs doing, I'm desperate to get to the bottom of the baskets!!

Here's my list:

Laundry
Remove stairgates (ds is 2 1/2 and can walk up stairs fine so gates are actually causing more trouble now rather than keeping him safe)
Dust living room

That's about it, have a good day all

shouldbe · 31/05/2007 09:34

OMG have just ventured downstairs and the place is a tip!
Time to make use of the utility room and it's locking door I think

mhamai · 31/05/2007 09:42

Skulks back onto the thread sheepishly. Flying flew out the window I'm afraid but I seriously need to get flying again as house is falling in around my ears.

shouldbe · 31/05/2007 10:14

Hi Mhamai you're welcome back anytime

Our friends are running late so I've had time to get the place tidied up a bit and am now feeling that the house is acceptable again so all is good Kids are going wild with excitement but there's not a lot I can do about that!
Will get off MN now and go and do something constuctive....

Aww EHM welcome back I'm pleased you had a good holiday, but what a shame to come home to problems with the cat and then poor Ellie being poorly I hope everything gets back to normal soon for you (((hugs)))

We've had a good day with the friends who came for lunch All the children played well so the other mum and I were able to relax too. Dd is already in bed (and asleep ) after a huge over-tired tantrum after supper (when do these moods end???!!) and ds is watching bedtime hour with dh downstairs. I've just been finishing up my pre-school committee duties (yay! last term for ds at pre-school so I'm on the home-straight with my role on the committee!) and now have to go out and deliver all the letters which go along with the role.
Hope everyone else has had good days. See you tomorrow x

tortoise · 31/05/2007 22:28

Hello.
Quiet thread today!
EHM welcome back. Glad you had a good holiday. Hope poor Ellie and cat better soon.

i am completly shattered. Have been all day. We are swimming today as i really didn't feel upto it today. Too tired!

But we did get DS1's Homework nearly finished which i am pleased about.

The house is a complete mess. I have done a few basics today but not enough to get back to tidy. BUT no DS's all weekend so i hope to catch up a bit then!

Looks like all have had fun days.

tortoise · 31/05/2007 22:29

That should say 'swimming tomorrow as i didn't feel upto it today!!'

tortoise · 31/05/2007 22:57

I have just got the kitchen clearer and DW unloaded and loaded.
Also made some sarnies for tomorrow.
