What would you expect a cleaner to do in 3 hours?

We've hire a cleaner to come every other week for the next few months just to get us back on an even keel.

What would you expect her to do in that time, out of interest?

It's a 3 bedroom Victorian terrace, but we'd only want her to clean…

Bathroom
Kitchen
Front room
Dining room
x 2 halls
1 small toilet room

We hired her for 5 hours for a deep clean but not sure if I was expecting too much.

I hoover daily, quickly dust and wipe down surfaces daily, and clean sinks/shower with spray and a wipe whenever I get the chance. Not deep cleaning by any stretch, but small bits and pieces when the baby is asleep.

I have a large 3 bed and in 3 hours, she does it all. All rooms hoovered, floors washed, all shelves etc dusted, kitchen surfaces cleaned, 2 bathrooms cleaned. All our cleaners have managed that.

In this weather I'd personally expect anyone to be a bit slower than usual.

Or house sounds a similar size to yours. Our cleaner:

Mops and hoovers all floors
Cleans kitchen and bathrooms
Dusts everywhere
Then does little extra bits like cleans microwave or changes beds if time.

She does 2hrs every other week. I don't clean in between other than loos and general kitchen crap 🙈

The clean is average, not special, but stops me / husband having to do it!

@siriously that's why we've booked her in for 3 hours, so she has plenty of time

Thank you all - the reason why I asked is that we paid her for 5 hours for a big clean and she didn't really do any of those things! I know she stayed for 5 hours (even though she was 15 minutes late, and left 10 minutes early…) as we have door sensors that let us know so we can set our home alarm.

She did an ok job, but I'd say it was closer to a 3 hour clean. She didn't wipe down skirtings, wash the corners of each room, didn't lift things to clean - even the bottles on the shelf in the shower - just went round them.

So was wondering if maybe I was expecting to much. So have bought a new mop and am giving her one last chance.

Well, she didn't show up, and when I text her she said she was too busy to come back.

So going to go back to hiring our old cleaner who is brilliant, but is really mean and me and DH are scared off.

She works really hard but gives a constant commentary about how much she hates our decor and pets Grin
