What do you use for non-smeary glass?

I use the blue spray Windolene but it leaves smears on the windows (not as bad on mirrrors)
How do you get a smear-free finish?

Just use water and a glass and mirror e-cloth. Zero smears/ smudges and v easy. I have converted everyone I've shown!

White wine vinegar spray from Wilko and a soft cloth

Tesco own window and glass cleaner with kitchen roll

Half and half white vinegar and water in a spray bottle, polish off with kitchen roll or newspaper.

Bucket of water, splash of fairy and Sarsons 😀. Works a treat.

Same as Ovenchips just water and an e-cloth. It really is the best.

As pp - bucket of warm water and washing up liquid.
Open the windows a few inches and use lots and lots of the soapy water.
Let the water run off outside the window, do the whole window, incl frame round the glass.
Use plenty of newspaper to dry/polish off.

I don’t really understand how just water and a cloth will deal with grime but I haven’t tried it! How is an e cloth different to a normal microfibre cloth?

Apart from the price? I get they probably started it and that they are branded but don’t understand the rest tbh.

The window and mirror cloth feels quite different to a regular microfibre cloth. It might seem expensive at £10 but I've been using the same cloth for over a year and I don't have the expense of cleaning products. So in my opinion well worth the investment.

I use e-cloths for everything, they have different cloths for different purposes. My house is very clean. Grease and grime are no problem.

Yes Durham I too am an e cloth afficionado! For glass I use an ordinary 'thick' microfibre cloth first to remove any grunge and then finish off with the window mirror cloth.

Agree the cloths are expensive but they last and last and no need to spend on loads of different cleaning sprays etc.

I hate to say it as I was a total sceptic but the Enjo window cleaning system is absolutely AMAZING!!

I'm a cleaner in a building with lots of windows that get very dirty (think face/hand prints and snot...) and need cleaning everyday. My boss bought it for her home then got us one for work as it's so quick and gets rid of everything with a few swipes leaving everything streak free and super shiny.

E cloth and water - they really are worth the money

Glass cloth from Home bargains and either Astonish or Stardrops Glass cleaner or White Vinegar spray. The glass cloth is great.

I use the Karcher window vac, bucket of warm soapy water with a dash of flash liquid gel- any old cloth to sud it up then run over it with the Karcher, it’s great and takes a quarter of the time. I also use it on my high gloss kitchen units, worktops, in the bathrooms for the tiles and showers etc. It’s expensive but I love it

Water with washing up liquid. Sponge (the lightly scratchy ones are ok otherwise just the sponge side). Scrub the whole window, from the bottom up, should be sudsy but not too wet. Use squeegee and scrape off window in straight lines, when you get to the bottom wipe off excess off squeegee with a cloth. Then run cloth around the frames where the squeegee might have missed a spot. Done. No polishing or faffing about. My husband does the specialty products and newspapers crap and never gets as good results as me - I saw a window cleaner demonstrate this on tv when I was young and I’ve done it ever since. When I do it. Which is why I use the scratchy side of the sponge.
