Nigella Lawson Butter Dish

Hello, I am asking as a last hope! I have had a disaster! Cleaning up my mum's house for her on her expected return home from hospital after an operation I have somehow managed to drop her Nigella Lawson Cream ceramic butter dish. (Vacuum wire accident). I have scoured ebay and other such retailers without success and wondered if anyone had any other ideas of where I could find a replacement. I will of course be telling her about it but I know she will be disappointed - I realise its only a butter dish but its part of a set.

TIA

Lakeland, John Lewis etc
TK Maxx? They often sell Jamie Oliver but I don't know about Nigella

Dewysungoddess · 20/07/2018 14:31

Hi Mike, thanks tried JL but not thought of TK Maxx will check them out 😊

No actual shop suggestions but just to say if you cleaned my house for me I would totally allow you to smash my butter dish Grin hope you find it!

You could try those websites that offer replacement pieces for dinner services. I used “chinadirect” to buy DSis a discontinued tureen, the only bit of her service she didn’t have.
I’ll find the right name for you...

MikeUniformMike · 20/07/2018 14:56

If you have the time, you could try cookshops and places like Robert Dyas (bit of a long shot).
A John Lewis outlet might have one.

Taffeta · 20/07/2018 15:01

Amazon have an LSA cream one that’s virtually indistinguishable

Sgtmajormummy · 20/07/2018 15:07

Nothing on (several) china replacement sites, sorry.
Was the butter dish part of a collaboration, like “Nigella for Wedgwood”? In that case there might still be hope.

The only thing I found was this on eBay.

Another thought - how about places that do vintage stuff somewhere like Dagfields www.dagfields.co.uk/ A lot of their stuff isn't antique.
Or shops that sell Emma Bridgwater stuff and similar.

The last time I went to TK maxx I nearly convinced myself that I needed a Viners spork. I managed to persuade myself to go home and if I still wanted it I could buy it next time. A spork?!

AdaColeman · 20/07/2018 15:22

Have you tried Amazon?

Sgtmajormummy · 20/07/2018 16:21

Mike I have a plastic spork (£1 from a gift shop somewhere) that I can take on the plane no problem. A great piece of holiday kit IMO.

MikeUniformMike · 20/07/2018 16:31

TK Maxx tomorrow for me then. Hope it is still there.

Dewysungoddess · 20/07/2018 16:34

Thanks for the suggestions, no luck yet

EspressoButler - thats a shame its a blue one otherwise that would have been perfect! As they are discontinued it seems they are quite rare (not good news for me!)

I'd keep my eyes peeled in charity shops and keep checking ebay

Dewysungoddess · 20/07/2018 17:00

Thanks Sgtmajormummy - need a cream one but appreciate your response

You could ask on Freecycle and Freegle. It's amazing what people give away.

Dewysungoddess · 20/07/2018 17:01

Good idea Mikeuniformmike that maybe an option

Have you tried her website ? I had a few bits of the blue but it's probably 10+ years ago. Or tweet her ?

AdaColeman · 20/07/2018 20:30

Is Nigella on Twitter?

Tell her your sad tale and ask if she's got a spare one you could have?

Or Dunelm do a Portmeirion one decorated with LOVE, no Mum could resist her daughter giving her a love butter dish!
