How to clean glass roof?

We had a kitchen extension done earlier in the year and the builder assured me the glass would be self-cleaning. It's not. We desperately need a window cleaner to come round but I'm at a loss as to how they're going to do it - we're in a terraced house and the side of the house with the glass bit (see example pic) runs along our neighbour's side return, with no gap in-between.

Do window cleaners have special super-long tools that can clean 9m of glass, or would they need to climb on to our roof? Not sure what I need to ask them for...

You can get extra long squeegees but probably not 9m. I have a glass verandah and I tie a mop to a long stick, sit on the roof of our extension and use a watering can to pour soapy water onto the glass, then mop it clean. My roof is flat & I can climb out of an upstairs window onto it - it would be harder from a pitched, tiled roof or if you can only get on there by ladder - I would probably pay someone else to do it in that case. Your kitchen looks gorgeous btw.

Is there a gutter along it or will any water used to clean it run into neighbour's garden?

Ours has a long pole with a brush attached to it and water comes out of the brush he can clean our Velux right on the top of our house so yours shouldn't be a problem.

Ah sorry I didn't read your post properly.
If your neighbour would allow access it would work. Maybe offer to pay to have theirs cleaned too?
Stunning kitchen by the way.

Thanks very much for the responses, all. I should say - that picture isn't actually of my kitchen, but it was one of the inspiration pics we used when planning it all (mine hasn't been that tidy for ages!)

We do have a gutter running along the side but I'm not sure about asking for access to our neighbours' side return for this - they were so nice about all the building mess and disruption that I'd rather not bother them with this as well.

I'll get a window cleaner round and ask them to do as much as they can from our side. A super-long pole should do it.

Thanks again!

We had a ceiling lantern fitted made of ‘self cleaning’ glass. It really isn’t!

Just updating in case anyone else has the same question...

Was very easy in the end - our lovely neighbours were very happy for the window cleaner to pop in and he just cleaned it from a ladder with his normal tools. Nice to be able to actually see the beautiful blue sky today!

Your roof looks beautifully clean now.
I have self cleaning glass in my kitchen too, and I was told that there has to be rain for it to clean itself.
Not sure where you are but if you haven’t had rain for a long time then the glass won’t be clean
