Painting question

Twinmummyx2 · 25/05/2007 10:32

I'm not an expert at decorating but am tackling my lounge over the next few days which involves more glossing of wordwork and painting of the walls in 2 different colours.
This is going to be happening over a few days as the room is very large and awkward, plus with small children around, you can imagine!

My question is...when finishing the painting for the day, do i have to wash out the rollers and brushes everytime?? is there anyway of storing them until later in the evening or the next day without having to do this??

Am off to B&Q later and want to make it my last trip, decided on the colours so its all systems go! SO will getting anything else you nice people might suggest then.

Thanks

You will need to wash out the rollers every night, but it's no big deal providing you don't put gloss paint on them.

Use cling-film for the glossing brushes. Wrap it around tightly, and they will stay wet and fresh until morning.

For emulsion, as with the rollers, just rinse them out when you've finished.

Good luck!

I've clingfilmed rollers overnight too - just wrap it tightly round the sides too, as you'll ruin the roller if it dries out.
