How to get my clothes/sheets smelling gorgeous?

What do I need to do to get my bed sheets and clothes to smell lovely? I use powder and fabric conditioner but my clothes never smell of anything when they come out of the machine. How do I get that lovely fresh linen smell?

Dry them outside.

Pumpkintopf · 28/06/2018 22:45

Do you line dry? That helps give that lovely fresh smell.

@Alienspaceship I do when the weather is nice. Maybe I'm using the wrong products, or not enough. Aware that I sound like a bit of a doughnut right now!

@Pumpkintopf I do when the weather is nice! But not often. Our garden is tiny so if we want to use it the line gets in the way.

Line dry them and use the Comfort fabric perfume stuff (fabric conditioner but extra perfumed - black and gold bottle).

I use Daz powder and fairy softener and our clothes smell lovely. I only line dry on really nice days, most of the time it's dried indoors.

Yes, line dry.

I also use the pink Surf powder and yellow sunflower type fabric softener (Tesco, Morrisons, whatever).

Are you using enough powder? Sounds stupid but I had to ring up fairy and ask them for a measure.
I also measure out the conditioner and line dry where possible or I use the tumble dryer with a dryer sheet inside :-) x

I use own brand conditioner but add a few drops of essential oil. I love lemon at the moment. Also, a wet cloth with a essential oil on in the dryer load - makes the house smell lovely too.

I use Tesco own brand non-bio washing liquid and fabric softener (the blue one) and since starting to hang out laundry outside since we moved the smell has been lovely. Makes the whole garden smell like fresh laundry.

SoddingUnicorns · 29/06/2018 09:26

Lenor Unstoppables. I use them with bedding and towels only because they’re bloody expensive, but you get a lovely long lasting smell off them.

Badgerthebodger · 29/06/2018 09:26

Comfort pure (the white one) is really good for that fresh smell.
