Karcher FC5 hard floor vac/mop

Hi

Has anyone got one of these or used one? We have finally finished our downstairs tiling (stupidly big renovation job Confused) and I'm finding vacuuming and mopping a bind. I've looked at the irobot etc and I think really my biggest bugbear is the mopping. I can whizz round with my cordless Bosch which is fab but the mopping is a killer I have tried the old fashioned bucket and mop which I hate and also have the vielda spray mop which is far better but runs out half way through the kitchen before even starting on the hall (first world problem I know!). I've looked into these Karcher models and they seem to answer my prayers and effectively cut the job in half by vacuuming and mopping at the same time but given the cost I'm looking for others experienced them are they as good as they are cracked up to be? TIA

Bumping......I'm interested as well!!

MrsMozart · 29/06/2018 20:25

Have one. Love it! Just wish the Rotties didn't moult so blinking much, but that aside it's grand.

Ooooo @OnlyTheDepthVaries thanks for the bump @MrsMozart is it worth the cost or perhaps should I try a refurbished one/used? Or is this a case of buy it and loooove it? Grin

No problem! Well, if MrsMozart likes it it must be good. Refurbished ones only seen to be £40-£50 cheaper so I'd be tempted to go for a new one. I'm not getting one yet as my hallway still has carpet, but once done I shall rethink. They certainly would save some time. I'd be interested to see what you think of it.

Weeeeelllll.... I got a new one as was too impatient and it was there waiting for the press of the Buy button...

It's used. A lot. And I love that it pulls me along instead of me slooshing the mop around like a demented woman. There's a stand thing so it can just sit there ready to go Grin

SOLD!!!! Thank you @MrsMozart can't wait to ditch the sloshing bucket after having nudged it yesterday and it fell over (clearly stronger than I thought Wink!). @OnlyTheDepthVaries I will let you know how I get on when this arrives Grin

Hi just a quick update my first model arrived and was broken the second one has arrived today. I've done a quick whizz round with it, I was really impressed with the dirty is mopped up the method of mopping is going to take a bit of getting used to as you are seemingly just supposed to go straight with it - it's not a fan of going back! I'm going to trial it for a week and see how it goes but I like the fact it can do my whole downstairs without needing a refill! @OnlyTheDepthVaries

@mommybear1 Thanks for the update. I'm a throw it around up down and sideways mopper so ahead only would be strange! Good luck.

mommybear1 · 23/07/2018 10:10

@OnlyTheDepthVaries I'm in love 😍 the floors have never been cleaner (they actually squeak 😂) and it's so much easier than slopping a bucket round or a measuring jug to refill the flash spray mop! True it's expensive and heavy but it does what it says on the tin - I will still have to mop tight corners or cranies (thankfully I have very few of those) but for a woman with an 8 month old crawling baby it's fab! Thank you @MrsMozart Thanks
