Steam generator iron

MotherFeeder · 25/06/2018 20:13

I'm thinking of buying a steam generator iron but I'm unsure what to get and also don't want to spend £200.
There are only 3 of us in the house and I do like ironed sheets.

What do people recommend?

Thanks

IMO Braun do the best. Watch the prices on Amazon for a bit as they can change dramatically and Currys.

Easy to descale too. Fill with 500 ml water, shake, empty, repeat. Then heat up and press reset button for 5 secs.

I have gone through so many irons it's unbelieveable. But Braun generators actually makes ironing slightly enjoyable!

£200 is a lot of money. Bought a Morphy Richards one from Amazon under £100. Its lasted 3 yes so far

Thank you for your feedback. Both of you have been very helpful... I'll be watching Amazon Grin

This is similar to mine: www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-GV6340-Actis-Pressure-Generator/dp/B01C7CCC18/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=tefal+steam+generator+irons&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1530481235&sr=8-16&refinements=p_89%3ATefa

I bought it a couple of years ago off ebay. It was graded and much cheaper than list price. No box or accessories but it's been excellent for the money.

They are also on ebay.
