what to add to paddling pool water?

I've just blown up and filled the large paddling pool, and I want to leave it full and inflated for a few days or until the water gets too dirty.

What can I add to the water to reduce how germy it gets?

Is tea tree oil OK, or could it harm the plastic pool? What about a tiny amount of bleach - how much will kill bacteria versus how much will be too much for my toddler to swim in?

Advice please, what do you do?

What a waste of gallons of water to just empty it out every day..

Oh, googled. Milton doesn't have the same toxicity as bleach.

"

No. As stated above, toxicity in hypochlorites is due to the by-product of their decomposition, sodium chlorate. With the heavy ions removed Milton decomposes into water and a small amount of sodium chloride (salt)."

Ours came with a bag of chlorine tablets and a floating filter.

How can your pool stay clean?

It's not totally clean, there are loads of sycamore seeds floating around in it. But it's only for me and the toddler and we have fake grass, so it's not getting muddy.
