How do you clean your window blinds?

I have neglected to clean my aluminium blinds for some time now! In the past, I've used the hoover attachment, damp cloth but just end up denting them and given up as the task takes too long. And now they are pretty dusty and grimy (actually filthy). How do you clean your blinds? Your tips please.

Wet wipes. The alchol will get rid of grime better than any other cloth/water/detrgant combo; I buy really cheap ones and use them in those little awkard corners, then I dry what ever I have just cleaned with a lint free cloth.

take them off and shower them in the bath. then buff to a shine

You can buy those weird contraptions for cleaning blinds - not sure where I've seen them but I've often wondered if they are any good as our wooden blinds get quite dusty due to constant building work.

Thanks everyone. I guess I better get cleaning them... no excuses now!
