Clothes coming out of wash with blue stains

Mysterious blue almost ink like splotches suddenly on clothes after washing and drying. Any ideas? Got quite a few marked pieces now.

Anyone else had this? Not sure if it's the washer or the dryer

Firstly, to get the stains out, soak the garment in BIO washing powder at the warmest temperature allowed on the fabric label for at least 30 minutes. It works almost every time.

Secondly, put your washing machine on an auto clean or very hot cycle. Chuck a bit of bleach in the drawers too. Maybe a Calgon tablet as well if you in a hard water area.

If there's no obvious clothes causing it, it has to be something in the machine so the machine needs a damn good clean. Check for foreign objects stuck in the rubber seal etc.

I've had this on and off for years. No idea what causes it then it stops for a few months a real pain ( and two different washing machines)

Thanks - putting it on a clean cycle now. Will stick some Calgon in on next wash. Can't find anything in the rim of machine.

Update for anyone on the edge of their seats after a cleaning cycle I performed a close inspection of the inside of the machine. 2 bloody collar stiffeners wedged in the drum.

DH only responsibility for all the laundry in this house. At least one of his shirts is affected.

Did you ever get a definitive answer to this... I'm having this problem and my stains look exactly like yours, I've move house, bought 3 new washing machines and shed loads of clothes and they're all STILL getting stained... Please help 😣
