Contender for the most boring thread ever - mops

I am in the market for a new mop (contain yourselves!) Can anyone recommend one that has all these things? It would be used on vinyl and hardwood if that makes a difference

  • has micro fibre cloths/head instead of “traditional” mop and bucket.
  • the microfibre cloth/head can be machine washed after each use
  • replacement cloth/head is easy to get in supermarket/amazon
  • handle goes very low to the floor so wood floors under the bed are a doddle

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have this emop which I bought in homebase years ago. IT IS AWESOME. Get at least two or three main cloths and a duster cloth. IT IS AWESOME and my best ever buy.

Did I mention it is AWESOME [clutches op's lapel in a disturbing way]

Lakeland do brilliant e-mops and you buy spare heads. Mine have lasted for years.

Monkeybunkey · 19/06/2018 08:56

I've got one of these: www.homebargains.co.uk/products/10159-power-action-microfibre-spray-mop.aspx. It's changed my life! I actively encourage the dog to walk muddy paws in so I can use it!

@annadale - never mind the OP, you've convinced me!

I've got one of those spin bucket vileda mops and while it is a great mop and does a great job, it's a bit of a faff and not very quick/easy to use. I've been in the market for something quick and simple, plus also something that can collect the never ending stream of bits/dog hair that collects all day every day on the floor. I hoover every day but within a few hours it looks like I haven't. It's against my principles to hoover more than once a day. I've added the dusting cloth too. Hurrah for Amazon Prime!

@annadale SOLD slams hands down on desk dramatically

Extremely excited for the emop to arrive on Friday, thanks for the recommendation!

I've got one of these as I like the way it sucks up dirty liquid from floor. Rollers whizz round to clean floor. Obviously much pricier than 'manual' mops but an option. I use on stone, ceramic tiles and wood. Rollers don't get very wet.

Emop emop emop emop!! . I love mine think it was only about £13 from amazon. goes under cupboards etc with ease. Handle is extendable so you can make it quite short when you want to put it in the cupboard. Works better than any mop i have ever owned (including steam mops)

TheClitterati · 20/06/2018 17:15

I've got a mop just like that emop but from Muji.
I've never used it Blush
I must did it out.

BeesKnees9 · 22/06/2018 14:50

emop update - it arrived Grin I just tested out the “dusting” cloth and it did not dissapoint! Went under the bed and chest of drawers with ease, the amount of dust on the cloth was disgusting and fantastic at the same time - I am thrilled!! I will definitely buy a couple more or the dust clothes as I only bought one to test it out. I will be testing out the blue mop cloth tomorrow on the dining room floor to spread out the excitement..

You're teasing us Grin Great that it's working out.

dundermiflin · 22/06/2018 15:27

If you want to spend a load of cash (Grin) I can recommend the iRobot Brava. I bloody love it. It has a wet mop function, with a micro fibre cloth that can be washed obviously. But it also has a dusting option with another washable cloth. The other thing I love is it can take mop wet wipes, like the Swiffer wipes.

hairyscarey · 22/06/2018 15:32

I have a i-robot thing (for washing and dusting) but I actually prefer my e-mop. The robot keeps getting stuck in places when I'm not looking.

E-cloth and water. Simple and effective.

Nothing boring about a good mop thread! I got one of these at the Ideal Home and I love it so much I bought two more for other properties I have to clean.
