How do you store necklaces?

I have about 5 on fine chains that are currently hanging on a doorknob in the bathroom. They keep getting tangled and caught in the door, it's a mess. What do you do?

I use a mug tree to hang mine on!

PillowMuncher · 18/06/2018 23:36

Messysurfaces, I love that! Thank you! Mug tree is a good idea but I've no room

Screw cuphooks to the inside of a suitable cupboard/wardrobe door and hang all your necklaces, bracelets and hangy shit on them.

XxXemma · 18/06/2018 23:52

@MessySurfaces I have one of these from ikea too, it's amazing isn't it haha! I've got all my necklaces on it :)

On the side of my book case in my bedroom using sticky hooks from the pound shop. They are plain stainless steel so you can barely see them

RoseWhiteTips · 20/06/2018 13:25

I keep mine laid out flat in a drawer. I read that hanging them weakens them and makes them more liable to snap.

GreenBox53 · 20/06/2018 13:27

I have mine in a velvet jewellery roll. Stops them tarnishing

wiltingfast · 20/06/2018 13:28

I lay mine flat too, nestled inside each other.

Cheaper ones are dangling off some antlers I have on the wall, more expensive ones in the boxes they came in.

Aridane · 20/06/2018 13:36

I used to have them on a necklace tree. Said necklace tree broke and I now have them in a mini perspex chest of drawers

Habeebtea · 20/06/2018 13:40

Over the side of my dressing table mirror

I have IKEA jewellery trays inside the trays you can get in PAX wardrobes. They are an absolute rip-off but very useful.

You can get hooks that slot over the tops of doors, pop them on one of them, great space saver

I bought one of those cheap cork notice boards and some pretty pushpins (the ones that have a little handle that flare out at the end). Covered the cork with fabric (an old t-shirt or pillowcase would work if you don't want to buy much. Stick a line of pins along the top, hang a necklace on each. Pop someore pins lower down for bracelets. I added a strip of ribbon along the top and put my earrings through that as well. Wall mount or prop on a dressing table, looks pretty, all in one place, easy to see what you have, nothing gets tangled or broken. Can be as much or as little effort as you like.
