We are buying a new biuld house at the moment, but it's not sold with flooring!

We have a 7 month old DD so I need to take the fact she will be crawling and walking soon, so flooring needs to be kind to her.
Have no pets, but hesitant to put carpet down as we will have dinner table in living room and shall get trashed with BLW DD...

Laminate seems cold and a bit naff looking after a while, or am I wrong?

What would you use?

Laminate ain't that bad. We got a new build with loads laminate. I thought... oh that will last about 6 months then I'll have to start replacing it room by room.

2 and half years later it is all still intact and no scratches at all.

Try something called "engineered wood". It is a type of laminate, but the top layer of real wood is much thicker than the standard one. We got oak engineered boards from the sadly defunct Floors 2 Go, at a real bargain price. It can be sanded back and revarnished if there are any serious scratches, and doesn't move about (expand/contract) as solid wood. We have underfloor heating and it's luvverly.

Am quite interested in Karnedean but am looking for some reviews that don't look planted on the review websites.

Anyone got Karndean flooring? How is it?

Karndean is excellent but a little expensive but very worth it as its hard wearing, looks the business and easy to clean being a father of 2 thats all the help i can get believe me. I would recommend everyfloordirect.com if people are buying over the internet as i found these to be the cheapest out of other flooring websites. They are reliable and reasuring.
As long as you have a professional floor layer to fit this flooring for you, you will love it.
i would advise getting the karndean cleaning products tho as this helps keep it in top condition.
Karndean
