I like many have worked my way through every product and potion from acid to alkali to try to clear my dark grey worktop ow pale grey 'water' mark. Barman's fiend to lemon rind and a host of others. No joy.
If you use an oil you can get an instant repair but at the next hint of water and you are back where you started. fail to olive and other vegetable oils.
In desperation i thought, what would a hard fat do - so out with the lard. Give a coat, leave to soak in, remove the excess 2 hours later and you have your worktop colour back.
This is not a permanent repair but it will survive a few days. Dry rather than wet wipe and if you get the odd mark polish it out with a piece of kitchen roll.
Try it, what have you to lose!
