Is there any way to stop slugs getting into my house , I have no idea where they get in.
I can not put poison down due to pets .

I find if I keep my lights on they don’t come in.
I know people swear by copper tape didn’t work for me

thank you I have not heard about keeping the lights on but as I only ever see the trails when I come down in the morning that may work for me .
I thought about using copper tape but I would have to know where they get in to make that work.

I have been having fat girls in my kitchen. I discovered they were getting through an airbrick on the outside wall. I put pellets around that and through the gaps in the original floor boards. I do have two cats but they are canny creatures.
I haven't seen a slug since.

Angie169 · 17/06/2018 00:54

Hmm I have a couple of air bricks they may be getting in there . ( i have stone floors ) I can not use poison as I have a ferret and he occasionally eats / plays with slug and snails

Use a knife or something to feed the pellets through the airbrush. I haven't even seen a dead one. How would they get through a strong floor though? Skirting boards?

Monty27 · 17/06/2018 01:40

And then there's the plate of beer or even salt. Horrible I know but needs must.

LemonysSnicket · 17/06/2018 02:31

Salt. In cupboards, by windowsills etc.

Monty27 · 17/06/2018 03:12

That should have read airbrick and stone floor
Not airbrush and strong floor
Probably obvious but just making sure.
I am glad you didn't judge me lemony.
Why do the slimy gits want to come indoors anyway? Have they no house of their own to go to? Grin

thanks for all the ideas , I have tried keeping the lights on , it seems to work but it is early days yet .

I have salted the outside of the house all round. I know it's horrible but I really can't cope with the disgusting creatures in my kitchen.

And whoever said keep the lights on, I'm going to start doing that too!

And what just put 1 pellet in each hole of the air Brick?
